St Dogmaels is the northern end of the 186-mile Pembrokeshire Coast Path National Trail, which runs to Amroth in the south of the county. You do not need to walk all of it. Some of the best short walks are right on your doorstep.
Walks to try
- Village and abbey stroll. An easy loop around the village taking in the abbey and Y Felin mill.
- Estuary walk to Poppit Sands. Follow the Coast Path along the Teifi estuary towards Poppit Sands.
- Poppit Sands to Cemaes Head. A more challenging cliff walk with sweeping views over Cardigan Bay and a chance of spotting seals and dolphins.
Tips
- Wear sturdy footwear, and take water and a waterproof. The weather can change quickly on the coast.
- Take an Ordnance Survey map (Explorer OL35) or a reliable navigation app.
- Keep dogs on leads near livestock and cliff edges.
